Pampa Energía, Harbour Energy and YPF join as shareholders of Southern Energy.
APRIL
The project enters the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI, in Spanish).
The project secures a 30-year LNG Free Export Authorization certificate and receives approval of the Environmental Impact Study for Phase I.
MAY
The company makes the final investment decision for the Hilli Episeyo vessel and signs the definitive agreements for the second vessel, the MKII.
AUGUST
Southern Energy makes the final investment decision for the MKII LNG carrier and obtains the 30-year LNG Free Export Authorization certificate for both LNG vessels.
SEPTEMBER
The Public Hearing for Phase II of the project is held (Hilli Episeyo and MKII vessels).
OCTOBER
Approval is granted by the province of Río Negro for the Environmental Impact Study of the expanded project covering both vessels.
NOVEMBER
Pipelines for the onshore and offshore gas pipeline construction arrive at the port of Río Negro.
DECEMBER
The Heads of Agreement is signed with SEFE (Securing Energy for Europe), Germany’s state-controlled Energy Company, for the sale of 2 million tons of LNG annually for 8 years.
